Approved by FM Approvals and Canadian Standards Association as Intrinsically Safe (IS) for use in Classes I, II, III, Division 1, Groups C, D, E, F, and G and suitable for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D only when used with Motorola IS battery and accessories.

Rain-Resistant
Certified to Military Standard 810 F for blowing rain, humidity, and salt fog. Designed to withstand exposure to rain, sleet, and snow. Rubber encasing, interior linings and seals protect the phone’s antenna, speakerphone, keys, battery door, and accessory connections against water intrusion.

Rugged Construction
Certified to Military Standard 810 F for dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, low pressure, and solar radiation. Performs in extreme outdoor environments and stands up to dusty environments, drops, exposure to vibration from heavy machinery use, and hot/cold climates.

Java Applications for the i325 IS

Emergency Group Call Button (for Public Sector Accounts Only)
With the easy-to-find orange button you gain priority, preemptive access to network resources during times of heavy congestion. When you initiate an Emergency Group Connect Call, other calls are preempted to allow the emergency call to go through. All members of the talk group receive priority treatment for the duration of the call. This service offers an increase call hang time of 30 seconds.

Direct Talk
Direct Talk(SM) is Nextel's all-digital off-network walkie-talkie service that works anywhere, anytime between compatible phones within a range of up to 6 miles. Direct Talk helps you get things done inside buildings, in remote locations, during emergency situations or other times when network coverage may not be available. Terrain, weather, foliage and man-made structures (such as buildings), among other things, may impact range availability. In-building usage may significantly reduce Direct Talk range. Direct Talk is not approved for use in all countries. Please check local laws before use.

Provides additional durability and better performance in fringe coverage areas.

Speakerphone
Safe, hands-free cellular conversations are always available with the built-in speakerphone.

GPS Enabled
Lets you view your approximate location and when making 911 calls helps emergency personnel to locate you if your phone had adequate access to GPS satellite signal and the emergency response center is equipped to process such signals. Supports non-Java location-enhanced services such as Mobile Locator^TM.

Surveillance Mode Profile Setting
Change user settings to eliminate vibe, backlight, or sound, must be used with a headset or an earpiece accessory.

Voice Record
Capture memos or phone conversations for future playback of phone numbers, tasks, or driving directions (caller must notify other party of any call recording).

Voice Activated Dialing

Downloadable Ring Tones
Use the “Downloads” menu to choose from hundreds of additional ring tones to personalize your phone, and assign unique ring tones to contacts for audible notification and caller identification during incoming calls. Phone-initiated purchases and downloads require a Nextel Online plan.
